What do Vanguard moderators do?

The Vanguard is VERGR's moderation team. They review reports from the community, keep tournaments fair by confirming results and resolving disputes, and can mute or ban rule-breakers. What they can do grows with rank: new Recruits only shadow and learn, full Vanguards act on reports and call tournament results.

VERGR does not outsource moderation to a faceless department. The Vanguard is a ranked collective of trusted members who keep the platform fair, and they are paid for it from the platform's own tournament revenue.

The day-to-day work

  • Reviewing the moderation queue: reports from users about content or behaviour, with the power to approve or reject each one.
  • Refereeing tournaments: for games without automatic result detection, a Vanguard moderator confirms who actually won, checks evidence, and resolves disputes between players.
  • Enforcement: muting users, and at senior ranks issuing temporary or permanent bans.
  • Escalation: hard cases move up the chain, from Senior Vanguard to Commander to Overseer, with the founder as the final layer.

What rank changes

A new Recruit shadows experienced moderators in the queue and tournament rooms but cannot take live actions yet. Promotion to full Vanguard unlocks real decisions: approving or rejecting reports, calling manual tournament winners, and mutes of up to 24 hours. Higher ranks add stronger enforcement powers and a bigger share of the pay pool.
