What are the Vanguard ranks?

Five ranks: Recruit, Vanguard, Senior Vanguard, Commander, and Overseer. You climb by earning VP through moderation work: 25,000 VP for Vanguard, 250,000 for Senior, 1 million for Commander, and 5 million for Overseer, with the top two ranks also requiring the founder's personal approval.

The ladder

  • Recruit: the trial rank. You shadow experienced moderators in the queue and tournament rooms, but take no live actions and earn no treasury share yet.
  • Vanguard (25,000 VP): full moderator. Approve or reject reports, call manual tournament winners, mute users for up to 24 hours. Starts earning a treasury share at 1x weight.
  • Senior Vanguard (250,000 VP): handles escalations from Vanguards, 2x treasury weight, and the first rank that earns a monthly stipend.
  • Commander (1,000,000 VP plus founder approval): commands the moderation chain, resolves disputed decisions, 4x treasury weight.
  • Overseer (5,000,000 VP plus founder approval): the top of the chain below the founder, 8x treasury weight.

How climbing works

Rank progress is measured in VP earned through moderation activity: resolved reports, refereed tournaments, upheld decisions. There is no shortcut and no way to buy rank. The two highest ranks are appointment positions: hitting the VP number makes you eligible, the founder makes the call.
