How do I moderate my stream chat?
Tap any message in your chat to open moderator actions: mute the sender, ban them from the stream, or pin the message. Chat-wide controls sit in the chat menu: slow mode, followers-only, and a banned-words list. And you do not have to do it alone: appoint trusted viewers as moderators and they get the same tools.
Acting on one person
- Mute: they can watch but not talk, for a duration you choose. The go-to for someone having a bad day.
- Ban: removed from your stream's chat entirely. For people who are not coming back from it.
- Unmute and unban exist too: nothing here is irreversible.
- Pin: the positive tool, pin a great message (or your own announcement) to the top of chat.
Chat-wide controls
- Slow mode: limits how often each person can send a message. Turns a firehose chat back into a conversation.
- Followers-only: only your followers can chat. The cheapest anti-raid, anti-spam switch there is.
- Banned words: your custom list of words that never appear in your chat, set once, enforced automatically.
Appointing moderators
From a trusted viewer's message you can make them a stream moderator: they get a shield badge next to their name and the same mute, ban, and pin tools you have. Two or three good mods mean you can actually play the game while chat stays healthy. You can remove the role the same way you granted it.
