How do I set banned words for my stream chat?
Open your stream's chat settings while broadcasting and add words or phrases to the banned list. Messages containing them are blocked from your chat automatically, before anyone sees them. The list is yours: slurs, spoilers, spam phrases, your deadname, whatever you decide has no place in your chat.
Setting the list
- While set up to stream (or live), open your chat's moderation settings.
- Add the words or phrases you want blocked, one at a time.
- Save. From that moment, messages containing them never appear in your chat.
- Edit the list any time: words can be added mid-stream when chat invents a new problem.
What to put on it
- The obvious: slurs and harassment terms beyond what platform moderation already catches.
- Spoilers: streaming a story game? Ban the key names and chat cannot ruin the ending.
- Spam bait: recurring scam phrases and copypasta seeds.
- Personal lines: anything that targets you specifically that you simply do not want to read while performing.
Banned words are your personal layer on top of platform-wide moderation, not a replacement for it. Platform rules against hate and harassment apply in every chat regardless of anyone's list.
