How do I check in for my match?

Before a match you confirm you are present and ready by checking in, usually in a short window before the match starts. Check in on the match screen when prompted. If you miss the window, you can be forfeited after a grace period, so be around when your match is due.

Checking in is how a tournament knows you are actually there and ready to play, so it does not waste everyone's time waiting on a no-show. It only takes a tap.

How to check in

  1. Be around when your match is scheduled, the tournament tells you the timing.
  2. Open the match screen when the check-in window opens.
  3. Confirm you are ready when prompted.
  4. Wait for your opponent and the lobby code, then play.

Why it matters

Check-in keeps brackets moving and protects you from being stuck against someone who is not there. If you do not check in or do not show, you can be forfeited after a grace period, and your opponent advances. So treat the schedule seriously, especially in a paid event.

If something comes up and both players agree, you may be able to reschedule a match rather than forfeit. Check the reschedule option on the match screen.
