What happens to my entry fee?
Your entry fee is held safely when you register and goes toward the tournament's prize. If you leave before it starts, the held fee is returned. If the tournament is cancelled, entries are refunded. Once you are competing, the entries form the reward the winner earns.
When you pay to enter a tournament, your fee does not just disappear into the platform. Here is exactly what happens to it.
It is held when you register
At the moment you register for a paid tournament, your entry is held from your wallet. It is set aside, not spent yet, which is what lets it be returned if the event does not go ahead for you.
It forms the prize
Once the tournament starts and you are competing, the entries from all the players come together to form the prize. VERGR takes a fixed 5% to run the event (moderation, result verification, dispute handling, infrastructure), and the other 95% goes to the players who place. The reward pays out winner-takes-all.
When you get it back
- If you leave before the tournament starts, your held entry is returned to your wallet.
- If the host or platform cancels the tournament, entries are refunded automatically and you are notified.
- Once a tournament has started, leaving counts as a forfeit, the same as any competitive event.
