What happens if a tournament is cancelled?

If an event is cancelled before it starts, every spectator ticket is refunded in full automatically, and everyone is notified. You don't need to do anything. Competing is free, so there's nothing to refund there. (Legacy pay-to-enter events refund held entry fees the same way.)

Cancellations are handled cleanly so nobody is left out of pocket. If an event you bought a ticket to is called off before it starts, your Coins come back automatically.

Ticket buyers get refunded

When a ticketed event is cancelled before it begins, every ticket is refunded in full to the buyers, straight to their wallets — automatically, with no request needed. You also get a notification telling you it was cancelled and refunded. Since competing is free, competitors have nothing at stake to return.

For legacy pay-to-enter events (only enabled for some hosts), held entry fees are refunded the same automatic way.

Why a tournament might be cancelled

  • The host calls it off before it runs.
  • The platform steps in, for example if something is wrong with the event.
  • Not enough players to run it fairly.

What you should do

Usually nothing, the refund is automatic. Just check your wallet to confirm the returned entry has landed, and keep an eye on notifications so you know what happened.
