What does it cost to enter a tournament?

On VERGR, entering an event as a competitor is free. Events are ticketed: the people who pay are fans buying a spectator ticket to watch, not the players. That keeps competition pure skill — nobody buys their way in.

Competitors play for free

Register for any event and you're in at no charge. There's no entry fee and no buy-in. You just need to meet the event's requirements (for example, a linked game account) and show up for your matches.

Fans buy tickets

If you want to watch an event, you buy a spectator ticket — a price in Coins set by the host. A ticket gets you in to watch live and supports the host directly. A ticket is never a way to compete, and it gives no chance to win a prize.

Where the prize comes from

The winner's prize purse is funded by a share of ticket sales (the host chooses the percentage) plus any Coins the host chooses to add. Because the purse comes from ticket buyers and the host — not from competitor stakes — playing carries no financial risk.

Buying a ticket needs identity verification, since real value is involved. Competing for free in a ticketed event does not.
