How does the Stream Boost pay for itself?

The 50-coin Stream Boost refunds itself out of the first 50 coins of tips you earn during the boosted stream. So as long as your stream pulls in at least 50 coins of tips, the boost costs you nothing. On top of that it pushes your stream in discovery, which is exactly how you reach those tips in the first place.

The Stream Boost is designed to give your money back. When you spend 50 coins to go live publicly on the free plan, those coins are credited back to you from the first 50 coins of tips you earn during that stream. Earn 50 coins or more in tips and you are square: the boost was free.

The math, plainly

  • You spend 50 coins to boost and go live.
  • Viewers tip you while you stream.
  • The first 50 coins of those tips refund the boost.
  • Everything you earn beyond that 50 is yours to keep (minus the standard 10% tip fee that applies to all tips).

So the boost is closer to a deposit than a cost. An active stream with any real audience clears it easily. A completely silent stream with zero tips would not refund, but in that case the 50 coins still bought you the discovery push that gives you the best shot at not being silent.

Why the discovery push matters

The refund and the reach work together. While the boost is active, your stream is amplified in discovery and you are more likely to be shown to viewers who actually tip. That is the whole point: the boost does not just sit there, it actively helps you reach the tips that pay it back.

Tips are not the only way a stream earns. They are just the source the boost refunds from. Tournaments, squad winnings, and tips on your posts and clips earn separately.

What if I only earn 20 coins in tips?

Then 20 coins go toward the boost and the rest is not refunded for that session. You are never charged more than the original 50, and the boost still gave you the unlock and the discovery push.

Does the 10% tip fee come out before or after the refund?

The 10% flat fee applies to tips as normal. The refund is drawn from the coins you receive. Either way, a stream pulling decent tips comes out ahead.
