How does the squad leaderboard work?
The squad's Leaderboard screen ranks members against each other, contribution, activity, and competitive results, so the squad's internal standings are visible and a little friendly rivalry stays fuelled. It is the inside-the-squad counterpart to the platform's global tournament leaderboard.
What it ranks
The leaderboard measures members' standing within the squad: who shows up, who contributes, who delivers in competition. Climbing it is a matter of doing squad things: playing in squad tournaments, participating in events and challenges, and generally being the member every squad wants ten of.
What it is for
- Motivation: rankings turn ambient participation into a game, and gamers, it turns out, respond to games.
- Recognition: consistent contributors are visible, not just loud ones.
- Selection: when a champion vote comes around for a squad tournament, the leaderboard is honest evidence of who has earned the spot.
- Culture: a leaderboard the whole squad can see keeps standards ambient, nobody has to nag.
It is friendly infrastructure, not a firing list: squads that treat the bottom of the leaderboard as a purge queue tend to stop having a leaderboard problem and start having a member problem.
