How do Vanguard moderators get paid?

From real platform revenue, not thin air. A 5% moderation cut from the tournaments a moderator presides over flows into the shared Vanguard treasury, which is split monthly by rank and activity. Higher ranks also unlock fixed monthly coin stipends that grow as the platform grows.

The treasury split

Every tournament that a Vanguard moderator referees contributes a 5% moderation cut to the shared Vanguard treasury. Once a month the treasury is split among active members. Your share depends on two things: your rank weight and how much moderation work you actually did that month. More rank and more resolved actions means a bigger slice.

  • Recruit: no share yet, the trial rank is unpaid until promotion.
  • Vanguard: 1x weight.
  • Senior Vanguard: 2x weight.
  • Commander: 4x weight.
  • Overseer: 8x weight.

Stipends at senior ranks

From Senior Vanguard upward there is also a fixed monthly coin stipend on top of the treasury share. Stipends scale with the platform's overall revenue: as VERGR grows, the stipend ladder grows with it.

If the treasury is empty in a given month, for example because few paid tournaments ran, there is simply nothing to split that month. Pay follows real activity.
