The app is slow, what can I do?

Start with a reload and closing spare tabs or apps: VERGR is a rich, live app, and a starved device slows everything. On an older device, turn on Reduced motion in Settings, then Display: it switches off animations and noticeably lightens the load. Weak wifi shows up as slowness too, so check whether other sites crawl as well.

Quick wins

  1. Reload the app or page: long-running sessions accumulate baggage, and a fresh start clears it.
  2. Close unused tabs and background apps: live streams, feeds, and chat all compete for memory with everything else you have open.
  3. Check the network: if other sites are slow too, it is the connection. Video and live features especially feel any wifi weakness.
  4. Update: newer versions carry performance fixes. On Android, take the update banner when it appears; in browsers you are current after a reload.

On older or low-end devices

  • Turn on Reduced motion (Settings, then Display): animations and effects are switched off platform-wide, which is the single biggest lightener.
  • Watch streams rather than multitasking around them: keeping a live stream, the feed, and chats open simultaneously is heavy on a weak device.
  • Restart the device occasionally: months of uptime on an old phone slows everything, not just VERGR.
