How do likes, comments, and reposts work?
Tap the heart to like, the speech bubble to comment, and the repost icon to share a post to your followers (plain repost) or add your own take (quote). Counts are public and engagement helps a post reach more people through the For You feed.
The three core actions
- Like: tap the heart. It is a quick signal of approval and counts toward the post's engagement.
- Comment: tap the speech bubble to reply. You can add text and media in comments.
- Repost: share the post to your followers as-is, or choose Quote to add your own commentary.
Why engagement matters
Likes, comments, reposts, and watch time are signals that push a post into more people's For You feeds. Posts that spark replies travel furthest, so asking a question or posting a tier list tends to outperform a plain statement.
Your likes appear on your profile's Likes tab unless your profile is private.
